Announcements Week of 11/5/2012

General, Symphonic Winds/Concert Band

1.  No school this Thursday or Friday!  Winds will rehearse until 3PM on Wednesday.

2.  Palace tickets go on sale this Monday, November 5th.  Tickets are $5 each and will be sold on a first come first serve basis.  We have 1100 tickets for sale this year and we predict they will be gone within a week.  Be sure to get yours early so you don’t miss out!

3.  Tuxedo shirts need to be purchased ASAP for your concert uniform.  If you need info, please see Mr. Smith.  You can also click here to download info.

4.  If you haven’t received a concert uniform, you need to call Mrs. Busby immediately.  Do not wait until the day of the concert.  If you don’t have a uniform by the concert, you will not be performing and this will impact your grade.

2013 Disney Trip Information

General, Marching Band

The date for the 2013 Marching Band trip to Orlando has been set.  We will depart Friday, November 29th and return on Wednesday, December 4th.

During our stay, we will be rooming at the Embassy Suites in Orlando.  Click here to visit their website.

The total cost of the trip will be between $700-$750 per student.  The exact price should be narrowed down in the coming weeks.

Cost of the trip includes:

-Admission to all Disney Parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Blizzard Beach Waterpark)

-Round trip transportation via charter bus

-Hotel Accommodations

-Cooked to order breakfast at hotel

-Breakfast at The Rainforest Cafe

-Four $15.00 Disney Dining cards

-Privately hired Hotel Security for the Perry HS Marching Band

-Performance by the Perry HS Marching Band at the Magic Kingdom

-Hours of quality time with Mr. Smith, Mrs Martin, Mr Welker, Mr. Good, Mrs. Rak, and Mrs. Marsh.  No monetary amount can be placed on this as it is priceless.

Announcements Week of 10/29/2012

General, Marching Band, Symphonic Winds/Concert Band

1.  Congrats on a tremendous marching band season!  A reminder that Leadership Team letters are due by this Friday.  Those students interested in auditioning for field commander for the 2013 season must also submit a leadership letter.

2.  2013 Disney information will be out as soon as we finalize the date.  We will be traveling to Orlando sometime in November of 2013.  The trip will take 6 days, and will cover all of the Disney parks, including Blizzard Beach water park, and a performance by the PHS Marching Band at the Magic Kindgom.

3.  Winds Wednesdays will begin this week.  Rehearsal will be over for Winds at 3PM.

4.  Solo and Ensemble is just 3 months away.  Time to start picking out a solo with your lessons teachers.

5.  Palace Concert is on November 20th.  All students must have a white, wing collar, pleated front tuxedo shirt to wear with your concert uniform.  If you haven’t already received a concert uniform, please contact Mrs. Busby ASAP!  Her contact information can be found on the boosters page at perryband.com

Congrats Marching Panthers!

General, Marching Band

Congratulations to the Marching Panthers as they earned an “Excellent” rating at State Finals this past Saturday, while scoring Superiors in Music.  The staff, parents, and community are very proud of this group, and the hours upon hours of hard work you put in this year.  Now enjoy some much needed time off!  This time next year, we’ll be heading to Orlando, FL!
