Announcements Week of 10/1/2012

General, Marching Band, Symphonic Winds/Concert Band

1.  Sorry for the belated announcements!

2.  Great performance this past weekend at Revere.  We know you were disappointed in not qualifying, but you should be thrilled with coming in 2nd place in class AA!  Ratings and rankings don’t matter as long as you do your best.  Now let’s do our best to keep making our show even better!

3.  Friday vs Lake(Homecoming):  Doors open at 5:30, Inspection at 6:15.  Halftime will be the Homecoming Court presentation with Firework on the repeat button.

4.  Congratulations to Freshman Madison DiGiacomo and Junior Daniel Meeks for being selected to the Homecoming Court!

5.  Symphonic Winds have been invited to perform at The University of Akron Band Clinic in February!  More details coming soon!

6.  Detailed Buckeye Invitational Schedule coming soon.  We perform at 4PM, and will be leaving PHS around Noon.  Parents are encouraged to attend this incredible show in a great stadium!  Not only will you get to see your Marching Panthers perform in Ohio Stadium (the Horseshoe), but will get to see some of the best Marching Bands in the country, followed by a performance of The Ohio State University Marching Band.  There will be no “place” awards for this competition, only ratings/state qualifications.  In addition to competitive bands, there will also be many exhibition/festival bands.  The show starts at 10AM, so feel free to make a day of it!

Announcements Week of 9/24/2012

General, Marching Band, Symphonic Winds/Concert Band

1.  Great performances on Friday and Saturday!

2.  Inter-Band challenges will take place this week, and will be finished by Friday.  The next opportunity to challenge between bands will be in January.

3.  Tuesday rehearsal will be 1/2 sectionals and 1/2 visual.  Please bring flip folders with all contest music and drill cards.

4.  Please remember that it is YOUR responsibility to hang up your rain coats.  We had 30 rain coats left on the floor at PHS, and several rain coats left in the stands at Massillon.

5.  Friday vs Boardman:  Doors open at 4:30, busses roll at 5PM

6.  Our first competition is this Saturday at Revere HS!  We perform at 9:55 PM, and will need to be in warm up at 9PM.  We will have a brief visual rehearsal from 6-7PM, busses will roll at 7:30PM.  A complete schedule for the event will be posted on perryband.com.  Parents:  Please come out and support your Marching Panthers at this fantastic event.  There will be many great bands there from all over Ohio!

Massillon Band Show

General, Marching Band

GREAT post game performance at last night’s game!  All of your hard work is paying off!  We are in great shape for Massillon, and we’ll continue refining and tweaking the show to improve even more over the next month.  Good Better Best!

Doors open at 5:30, busses roll at 6PM for Massillon.  Remember to behave and be respectful of all other bands while you are an audience member.  IF there is a weather issue, and the performance is cancelled, we will post the info on the website.  If it’s looking like rain, keep an eye on Perryband.com for updates.

Weekend Reminders

General, Marching Band

1.  A reminder that Friday nights game starts at 7PM, not 7:30.  Inspection is at 6PM.

2.  We are still in need of concession workers for the remainder of the football season.  Please contact Patti Boswell to volunteer.

3.  Since halftime tomorrow will be dedicated to senior night, please stay and enjoy our first home performance of the competition show immediately following the game.

4.  The Massillon Band Show is Saturday at 7PM.  Doors open at 5:30, busses roll at 6PM.  We should return around 10PM.

5.  Anyone who ordered a band tee shirt can pick them up Friday in the band room from 4PM-6PM.
