Tonight’s fair show rehearsal has been cancelled by the Stark Co. Fair.
Announcements Week of 8/27/2011
1. Great first performance on Friday night! The staff and Perry community are very proud of you!
2. The Stark Co. Fair Band Show is this Tuesday. Rehearsal on Monday: Busses roll at 5:15, doors open at 4:45. Performance on Tuesday: Doors open at 4:15, busses roll at 4:45 (full uniform). We are in the early show this year which begins at 5:15. We should return to PHS no later than 7PM on both nights.
3. We will begin focusing on the competition show starting Wednesday. Ludwig, Georgia, Fire/Piano Man, and Imagine must be checked off by NEXT Thursday.(9/6/2012)
4. The annual mattress sale will be held on September 15th! Spread the word to anyone who needs a mattress to come out and support the Perry Bands!
5. Friday game vs Central: Doors open at 6PM, inspection at 6:30. A reminder that finger nail polish must be removed if you are a clarinet player, hair must be pinned up inside of the hat, and only stud earrings are permitted for girls.
6. Scale tests for Jazz Ensemble begin this week! Bb, Eb, Ab, and Db major scales from memory.
7. If you wish to purchase a 2012 Marching Band tee shirt to show your Panther Pride, please visit the concession stands to fill out an order form.

End of Summer Announcements
1. Great summer of rehearsals. We are off to a tremendous start! Let’s keep working once school starts so we can be good, better, best!
2. Contrary to the error on our calendar, there will be marching band rehearsal on Tuesday after school. We apologize for the error.
3. First football game is Friday. Call time is 6:15, doors open at 6PM. Remember to bring $3 for gloves. 1 pair of gloves should last you most of the season if you take care of them.
4. Please contact Chris Smith to sign up to work a shift in the concession stands during home games. Parents we need your help to fund this great band program!
5. Last chance for spirit items and window clings! Contact Chris Smith if you are interested in showing your Perry Band pride!
6. Do you feel as though you didn’t get to spend enough time with your band directors this summer? Come to PHS open house tonight from 7-8:30.
Support the Perry Bands at TGIFridays!
Dinner plans tonight? Come out to Friday’s on Dressler road tonight! From 4-9PM, for every $20 you spend, Friday’s will donate 5 bucks to the PHS Majorettes. Be sure to ask for a “ticket” to turn in with your meal from a majorette or band parent. Come out for a great meal and support your Perry Bands!
Beginning Band Informational Meetings
Informational meetings for parents/students interested in our 6th Grade Beginning Band will take place on Tuesday, September 11th and Thursday, September 13th at 6PM. Meetings will be held at Pfeiffer.
On hand will be music store representatives to discuss rentals, and staff will discuss our band program. We hope to see you at this event!
The 170 member PHS Marching Band will perform for all 6th Graders at an assembly on Friday, August 24th during the school day.

Announcements Week of 8/6/2012
1. Great performance in the parade on Saturday! We’ve heard MANY positive comments about how great you looked and sounded!
2. Rehearsal this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8-Noon. We will be putting the rest of Ludwig and Just the Way You Are on the field. Please remember to bring your drill cards!
3. School is just around the corner! It’s time to make sure those concert instruments are in working order, reeds are ready to go, etc. We will start Winds/Concert Band on the first day of school.
4. If any parents shot quality video of the Panther Band in the HOF parade, please contact Mr. Smith. We are looking for video to use as an audition for Disney.

Perry High School Percussion Ensemble to perform at OMEA State Conference
We have even more good news to share this weekend! We just received word that our Perry High School Percussion Ensemble has been invited to perform at the Ohio Music Education Association state conference this February! This makes two Perry groups that will be performing this year! Congratulations to members of the percussion ensemble and Mr. Good!
