Announcements Week of 5/7/2012

1.  Congrats to both bands on great performances at State Contest this past weekend!

2.  All Winds members need to remember to bring their folders and music to rehearsal on Monday.

3.  Winds exams will begin on Wednesday.  All 12 major scales.

4.  Rookie Camp is June 1st from 1:30-4:30.  All incoming Freshmen and Leadership Team members need to be at this event.

5.  We will begin reading through our competition show this week with both bands.

6.  Band Banquet this Tuesday at Mckinley Eagles.

Announcements Week of 4/30/2012

1.  Jazz Concert is this Wednesday at 7PM in the Mattachione Theater.  Jazz Ensemble members should arrive in the band room no later than 6:30.  Dress is all black.

2.  Bands in the Round is this Thursday at 7PM in the Main Gym.  Concert Band and Symphonic Winds members should arrive in band rooms no later than 6:30PM.  Dress is “nice” clothes.  (Shirt and tie for gentlemen, no tennis shoes, etc.)

3.  Symphonic Winds State performance will be at 5:00PM at Glenoak HS this Friday.  Winds members should arrive at PHS no later than 3:15.  Busses depart at 3:30.  Dress is concert uniforms.

4.  Concert Band State performances will be at 11:15AM at Glenoak HS this Saturday.  Concert Band members should arrive at PHS no later than 9:15AM.  Busses depart at 9:30AM.  Dress is concert uniforms.

5.  All band members will turn in their uniforms following their performances at State Contest.  Be sure that all pieces of your uniform are turned in (including any marching band items you may still have).  Grade cards and diplomas will be held if these are not turned in.

6.  Congratulations to band member Claire Kendig who has been accepted to the Julliard School of Music’s “Summer Music Institute”!

Announcements Week of 4/23/2012

1.  Contest is just a week and a half away!  Keep practicing and working hard.

2.  Winds rehearsal with the chair of OMEA Adjudications Max Trier on Wednesday.

3.  Jazz Night is next Wednesday, May 2nd, at 7:00PM.  Free admission to this year’s jazz concert!

4.  Bands in the Round is next Thursday, May 3rd, at 7:00PM.  Tickets will be available at the door for $5.00.

5.  Seniors:  If you would like to apply for the Band Parent scholarship, please download the application from the Booster tab and return to Mr. Smith ASAP!

Announcements Week of 4/16/2012

1.  Percussion Ensemble Concert this Wednesday in the Mattachione Theater

2.  Leadership Team Meeting this Friday from 2:15-2:30.  (Leadership Team includes Field Commanders)

3.  Winds State Contest performance at Glenoak HS will be on Friday, May 4th, at 5:00 PM.  Busses will depart PHS around 3:30 and return around 7:00 PM

4.  Concert Band State Contest performance will be on Saturday, May 5th, at 11:15AM.  Busses will depart PHS around 9:45 and return by 12:30.

Fees will be collected as follows and must be paid to receive your uniform:
$40.00 Uniform fee for Marching Band and Concert Band Uniforms
$15.00 Uniform fee for Concert Uniform Only

Make checks payable to Perry Band Boosters, If paying in cash please have correct change, fees are not refundable
