The Perry Symphonic Winds performance at the OMEA State Conference is fast approaching!  By now, your student should have brought home information on parking and shuttle buses as well as encouraged you to attend this performance.

For those of you attending this performance, there are a few things to keep in mind to make your trip less stressful.  I will include information for students and parents as well as maps in this post.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

1.  Symphonic Winds will perform at 2:30PM on February 6th.  The performance takes place at the Cleveland Convention Center, Ballroom C.  The Perry Symphonic Winds will perform for approximately 1 hour.

2.  2 charter buses will depart PHS at 10:30AM with all Symphonic Winds members.  Students should travel in concert uniform, and have “nice” clothes to change into following our performance.  No jeans, shorts, etc will be permitted on this trip.

3.  We will stop somewhere for a quick lunch on the way up.  Bring a small amount of cash for lunch.  Following our performance, you will change, spend some time at the exhibits, then travel to Buca di Beppo in Strongsville for dinner.  We should arrive back at PHS between 8:30-9:30PM.

For parents going to watch the performance:

1.  We are STRONGLY encouraging all parents of Winds members to attend this performance.  This performance is an opportunity that most students in band programs will never get to experience.  You will not want to miss it!

2.  Parking is going to be a problem.  OMEA is suggesting that all attendees use the Municipal Lot, then use OMEA provided shuttle buses which will take you to the Convention Center.  You will need to plan ahead and leave enough time so you don’t miss the performance.  A bus will leave every 1/2 hour from the Muni Lot to the Center.  Please factor that into your planning.  Click here to download Municpal Lot info and Schedule
