All sixth grade students at Pfeiffer Intermediate school are invited to join the band for the 2015-2016 school year. During the past week the sixth graders have had the opportunity to try out all of the band instruments during their Panther Time. If your child is interested in this great musical organization please have them return the enrollment forms to their Panther Time teachers no later than Wednesday, September 9th.
There will be two Parent Information Meetings for Band on Wednesday, September 2nd and Thursday, September 3rd. Both meetings are from 7:00 – 8:00 PM and are held in the Pfeiffer Cafeteria. Representatives from local music stores will be at these meetings to give you information about renting or purchasing an instrument for sixth grade band. Both meetings are identical so it is only necessary to attend one meeting.
Joining band is a great way for students to challenge themselves and broaden their experiences in school. Not only do students learn to perform music together, they develop social skills and an understanding of the importance of the arts in our daily lives. All students can be in band no matter which sports or other extra-curricular activities they already participate in or any activities they are looking into for the future.
