Congratulations to everyone who participated in Solo and Ensemble contest yesterday!  Regardless of your final rating, and whether you are happy with it or not, you improved through the process and that is what is important!  Many of you challenged yourselves by pushing to the next level of difficulty, and the directors are proud of all of you.  If things didn’t go as well as you liked, then you know what to work on for next year.  Always remember, strange things happen at contest:  nerves, reeds, etc. etc.  Don’t beat yourself up if you prepared well but didn’t get the rating you wanted.  There is no such thing as a perfect performance.

Your comment sheets will be available in the band office on Tuesday morning.  Please be sure to pick up your music if it was left with a judge.

If you are not a senior, and earned a Superior rating on a Class A solo, you need to consider auditioning for the OMEA All State Band.  Please contact Mr. Smith and your lessons teacher if you are interested.
