The Band Awards Ceremony will begin tomorrow evening (Wednesday) at 6PM. The event can be viewed on the Perry High School Bands Facebook page and/or www.perryband.com (we will post the link/video as an announcement on the main page). If you do not have Facebook, you should still be able to view it on our Facebook feed or perryband.com. A few tips to enhance your viewing experience:
- If you do not hear audio, look in the lower right hand corner of the video and make sure the sound icon is not “x’d”. If it is, click it and adjust your volume.
- If you still do not hear audio, make sure your device volume is on.
- If you STILL do not hear audio…be patient…it means I forgot to turn on a setting, among the many settings, that I have to turn on to make this work. Though I’ve been practicing every morning, there is a high degree of possibility that I will screw something up at some point.
- The Zoom to Facebook Live connection has been spotty at times over the past 2 weeks. This is not something I have an ounce of control over. If Facebook/Zoom has technical difficulties tomorrow evening, we will record this event in it’s entirety and post the video.
- There WILL be awkward pauses. I’m running Zoom, Powerpoint, Chrome, Quick Time player, and Word to make this presentation flow nicely…..as much as I’ve tried, I still have to navigate between those programs and it takes a few seconds to do that. This will at least provide “authenticity” to my normal awkward public speaking.
- If the video slideshow becomes muted (unlikely but possible due to copyright issues) we will provide a link to view through Google Drive.
- If we forget a name, etc please know that it’s not intentional. Typically, we verify everything before our normal banquet….that wasn’t an option this year so I’m going off of rosters, gradebooks, and RSVP forms.
