With the cancellation of our Disney trip, we wanted to provide a performance experience and trip for our students. This has proven ridiculously difficult as securing buses and hotel rooms has been quite the challenge. We had hoped to have this hammered out in December, but we were met with several challenges regarding hotel and charter bus availability.
However, as of 8:03 this morning we have secured both hotels and buses! The downside is that information is going to be coming out quickly and seemingly last minute. I apologize for as it certainly wasn’t my plan to do that.
I should have significantly more information for you in the coming days, but I wanted to give you some details before the weekend.
We will depart Perry High School on Friday, April 22nd in the afternoon (exact time TBD) for Cincinnati, OH. We will be performing a joint concert with the Lakota West HS Symphonic Winds at Lakota West High School at 7:00 PM. The PHS Concert Band will perform first, followed by the PHS Symphonic Winds, then the Lakota West HS Symphonic Winds.
Following our performance, we will travel to our hotel in Kentucky (near the Cincinnati airport…yes..you read that correctly). On Saturday, we will spend the day at Kings Island Amusement Park and will return home late Saturday night.
The initial trip deposit and online registration will be due on February 11th. I know that’s quick, and I do apologize. There are several large events taking place in Cincinnati that weekend, and in order to secure rooms we have to move fast.
I should have a price per student estimate later today and I will share that information as soon as I receive it. This trip will be massively less expensive than our Florida trip.
For now, all you need to do is keep an eye on the website. This is literally all of the information I currently have, but I wanted to get it out to our families as soon as possible.
