Marching Band Marching Band Marching Band! It starts tomorrow at 7AM sharp! Here are a few reminders to help your first week go swimmingly:
• If you’re on time, you’re already late! Rehearsal starts at 7AM..so show up a bit early so you are ready to go. (ten minutes is sufficient…you don’t need to be waiting on the steps at 4:30AM)
• Leadership team: If you can arrive by 6:40, that would be awesome. We will have you set up chairs for sectionals. Make sure you bring extra music in case any of your section members forget theirs.
• We will start in sectionals tomorrow morning- Woodwinds in the main band room and brass in the theater. Percussion and guard will do their own thing.
• There is no A/C in our wing of the building right now due to roof construction. It’s not terrible in there, but it will get a bit warm. They should have A/C back up and running soon. Due to this fact, we do not intend to put the full marching band together in the band room.
• The forecast is looking hot! We will adjust our rehearsal plans according to the weather….on hot days, we’ll march first, then get you inside.
• Bring water and sunscreen! I can’t stress this enough. It’s important to keep hydrated, even on a 70 degree day.
• Make sure you have all of your music, flip folder, etc ready for tomorrow.
• The first Disney payment is due this Friday, July 22nd. We are aware that there have been some issues with online billing. I would suggest that if you have an issue, contact CarolSue at the online billing number (located on the online billing link).
• Water! Sunscreen!!
• Try to eat a “light” breakfast each day. Try to avoid eating 20 pancakes and 6 pounds of sausage before doing 4 hours of outdoor activity. You will thank me for this advice later.
• Show up with a positive attitude! We have a great group of musicians and a great show…this year is going to be fantastic!
